To provide additional opportunities for young high-IQ individuals to connect, learn, and engage with the Mensa community, Mensa Taiwan has introduced a pilot Minor Membership program beginning in 2026.
Applicants under the age of 18 who have qualified for Mensa may, join Mensa Taiwan as members. However, in consideration of minor protection, participant safety, community management, and relevant legal requirements, certain restrictions may apply to their participation in activities and access to member communities in accordance with Association policies.
To ensure participant safety, effective event management, and compliance with relevant regulations, the following guidelines apply to minor members.
1. Event Participation
Minor members may participate in selected Mensa Taiwan activities and community events in accordance with Association policies. Eligibility requirements, age restrictions, and participation rules may vary by event. The requirements stated in each event announcement shall prevail. Mensa Taiwan reserves the right to determine participation eligibility based on the nature of the event, venue requirements, and safety considerations.
2. Event Registration
Minor members are currently not permitted to register for events directly through the online event registration system. If a minor member wishes to attend an event, please contact Mensa Taiwan through the official contact channels in advance. The Association will review the suitability of the event and any necessary arrangements before assisting with registration.
3. Guardian Accompaniment Requirement
Minor members attending in-person events must be accompanied by their legal guardian at all times throughout the event. Guardians are expected to comply with all event rules and cooperate with organizers regarding event management and safety procedures.
4. Member Communities and Communication Platforms
To ensure appropriate safeguarding and community management, certain member communities, messaging groups, and communication platforms are currently unavailable to minor members. Access policies may be reviewed and adjusted as the program develops.
5. Miscellaneous
This policy forms part of the pilot framework for Mensa Taiwan's Minor Membership program.
